Christmas is the number one retail holiday in the United States (with Halloween a close second). So why do we give gifts on Christmas? And where did the tradition of Christmas trees come from? And who is Santa Claus or St. Nicholas? There are many traditions we associate with Christmas that are more cultural than biblical, including the date of December 25th! Together, we will explore how these traditions came to be and whether they help or hinder the real “reason for the season” – the birth of Jesus Christ. Child care is available. Must register separately for child care via "Child care for Evening Christian Life Classes."
